Understanding the Cost of Implants What can I expect to pay for this treatment?

The cost of dental implants at our Bergen County, NJ, practice is determined by a number of different factors. While it is impossible to give an exact estimate without first examining your teeth, here are the elements that play a role in the final cost:

Number of Implants

The number of implants is the most significant factor in the final cost. Patients replacing a single tooth will pay less than patients with complete tooth loss who require several dental implants.

Oral Health

Procedures for periodontal disease, jawbone recession, or tooth extractions will add to your final treatment costs. Patients with good oral health can expect to pay less by saving on prep work.

Restoration Materials

Patients can choose from different materials for their implant-supported restoration. Higher-quality materials like zirconia or porcelain can be more costly, but they tend to be the most durable and natural-looking. We will break down the benefits of the different materials and help you select the best option for your needs and budget.

"But I've Seen Ads for Cheap Implants"

You may have seen dental implants advertised at remarkably low prices on billboards or in newspapers. Providers can only make these offers by dramatically cutting some aspects of their services. If you choose one of these dentists, you are likely compromising the quality and long-term success of your implants. Meanwhile, treatment with Malki Dental gets you the best value for your money, resulting in quality restoration of your smile from a team of experienced professionals.

Qualifying for Implants Candidacy Factors

Wondering if you are a good candidate for dental implants at our New Jersey office? Our River Edge dentist will look at a variety of factors, such as:

Bone Density

You must have sufficient jawbone density to support implants. If you have suffered significant jawbone recession, bone grafting may be able to restore your candidacy.

Smoking Habits

Smoking increases the risks of dental implant failure. If you smoke, you will need to quit before beginning treatment.

Periodontal Disease

Periodontal disease weakens the teeth and gums, complicating implant surgery. We can provide treatment for gum disease before moving forward with dental implants.

Health Conditions

Certain health conditions such as diabetes and autoimmune disorders can impair your body's ability to heal. We must ensure any serious conditions are under control before proceeding with implant treatment.

Is There an Age Limit?

Your overall health and a desire to improve your quality of life are much more important than your age. At our River Edge office in Bergen County, NJ, we currently have implant patients from 40 to over 80 years old. Patients in their 90s have even successfully undergone dental implant treatment!

We Use Innovative Technology  So More Patients Can Have Implants

scan of teeth

Our River Edge, NJ, office is equipped with some of the most advanced tools in dentistry. Our dental implant patients benefit from our technology at their very first consultation.

During your initial appointment, we will use a state-of-the-art cone beam scanner to capture precise images of your bite. These 3D digital images show views of teeth and jaws from all angles, so Dr. Malki will be able to identify potential issues with bone density and sinus location.

We also use these detailed scans to design custom surgical guides for each patient. These guides rest over your gums during the implant surgery, ensuring that the doctor places each implant at the ideal location and angle.

All-On-4 Treatment

If you do not meet all the requirements for traditional implant-supported dentures, it is possible to avoid preparatory procedures with certain dental implant techniques. You may still qualify for the All-on-4® method. With the All-on-4 approach, Dr. Malki can secure a full denture to four strategically placed posts. By inserting the implants at an angle, Dr. Malki can provide a highly secure foundation for your restoration that would traditionally require six to eight posts.

See how All-on-4 differs from traditional implant-supported dentures:

All-On-4 vs. Traditional Implants
All-on-4 allows patients to bypass preparatory work like bone grafts, achieving results faster and with reduced downtime and discomfort.

We Provide Skilled Treatment

"I've been a patient of Dr. Malki's office for many years now and they're the only dentists that I trust.  As with many people, I am scared of the dentist, but I always feel safe with Dr. Malki and his team.  I like getting cleanings from Ana and the other hygienists are great too.  Dr. Malki never pushes for unnecessary procedures.  I think some dentists enjoy pointing out your flaws, but I'm just a human and I'm not perfect.  Thank you Dr. Malki."

Timeline for Dental Implants

Implant treatment occurs in several phases at our office serving River Edge and all of Bergen County, NJ. Here is an overview of treatment following your initial consultation:

While treatment takes several months, the benefits will last a lifetime.
While treatment takes several months, the benefits will last a lifetime.

Preparatory Procedures

Some patients may need preparatory procedures to qualify for implants. We may recommend a bone graft, sinus lift, or tooth extractions.

Implant Surgery

Dr. Malki will begin by administering local anesthesia to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure. Then, using a surgical guide designed based on models of your bite, he will make incisions in your gums at the site of your missing teeth. He will then insert the titanium implants into the jawbone and close the incisions with sutures.

Osseointegration

Most patients need anywhere from three to six months to heal completely before advancing to the next phase of treatment. During this time, the dental implants fuse with the jawbone in a process called "osseointegration," creating a permanent and stable foundation for your restorations. We may be able to provide a temporary prosthetic for you to wear during this time.

Abutments

Once the titanium implants have completely fused with your jaw, you will return to our River Edge office in Bergen County for a second procedure. Dr. Malki will re-open the gums to attach connector pieces, also known as "abutments," to the posts.

Impressions

After your gums have completely healed from abutment placement (which can take a few weeks), Dr. Malki will take impressions of your teeth, gums, and abutments. We will send your impressions to our trusted dental lab, where technicians will craft your custom crown, bridge, or denture.

Restoration

After approximately two weeks, your restoration will be ready for placement. You will return to our office one more time so we can secure your prosthetic teeth to the implants. After checking the look and fit and making any necessary adjustments, Dr. Malki will screw your crown, bridge, or denture onto the abutments, completing your treatment. You can now enjoy a smile that looks, feels, and functions just like natural teeth.

Watch What Happens During the Process

Safe and Comfortable Restorative Dentistry

Most of our patients report that they feel very little if any pain during the implant procedure. While some side effects like soreness and swelling can be expected after the operation, they are usually mild enough to manage with over-the-counter pain medication.

Given the overall oral health benefits, you should not reject dental implants out of fear of pain. As with any medical procedure, we are equipped to provide you with appropriate levels of anesthesia and pain medicine to be comfortable during and after surgery.

An Amazing Experience  With Dr. Malki

"Over the last few years, I have had a few issues with one tooth that was badly broken when I was very young. After trying to temporarily fix the problem for months, Dr. Malki and his team decided on a different course of treatment to solve the issue for a longer period. It was their kindness and gentleness that helped make this process so easy. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would."
