Unfortunately, there's a big scare about cancer. Cancer's huge nowadays, and unfortunately, there is a rise in oral cancer. We do emphasize head and neck exams and we do something called a VELscope, where we also look in the oral cavity just to make sure we're looking at everything. They say the heart is the heart of your body, the mouth actually says a lot about their overall health. Something can actually manifest itself in the mouth that may be leading to other things in the body. In terms of cancer and other things, the mouth may show that something else may be going on in their bodies, just not a cavity, it could be something else.
